Title: exhaust retaining springs
Post by: limeyrob on 20 May, 2026, 20:31
My A10 has a 2 into 1 exhaust, it came with it and I lie it. But it has to be clamped very tight to stay in the head so I lock wire it across in front of the head.  I'm thinking of drilling the ally head and exhaust rosettes and putting a spring on each exhaust.
Comments and thoughts please before I commit with the drill.

What type of sealant do you use around it into the head?

Nothing at the moment, as one way or another the exhaust often gets removed.  Its the short drive side "loop" that works its way forward.  It doesn't leak badly, but the cross over is only held by the clamp to the main pipe, a spring would hold it into the head.
