Title: A10 forks
Post by: topher on 17 Feb, 2026, 15:37
Quick question - should the fork stanchions come to the top of the top yolk? Can't seem to get mine all the way to the top, there's a half inch gap. I'm thinking they should otherwise steering geometry is changed? Thanks.

No, just below. Mine come up to within about 3 or 4mm. Mine is a swingarm model from 1960.
It could depend on the type of yoke, is it covered in paint on the inside? There could be stanchion diameter differences.
Either way, as long as the forks are both the same distance from the top that should be alright. WTF do i know though.
I don't think the steering geometry will change that much, maybe a millimeter at the wheel.

You want them to come up equally but there is some gap to allow you to pull the taper in and not bind on the top nut.
