I did enjoy reading Chris Golby's Bantam review. It's not a bike for me because I prefer the older style look of the Gold Star 650.
One thing I would pick up on (not as a criticism) is the reference to the "heavyweight BSAs" compared to the "easy start, lightweight BSAs".
The Bantam comes in at 185 kg whereas a BSA Golden Flash is 179 kg ! I suspect the Bantam 350 feels lighter due to modern design and components, but is actually heavier than an A10 Flash. I find the same with my Gold Star 650..... it feels lighter than my A10 on the road.... but isn't :)

I agree Ken,
I find my A50 Royal Star takes more effort to lift it upright than my new Gold Star. This is due to the balance. There is more weight on the left of the centre line than the right. All to do with the primary drive and chain etc. compared to a few timing gears on t'other side.
On the newer bikes they designed them with a good balance across the bike.
