Title: A7/A10 small plunger tank knee rubbers
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 05 Feb, 2026, 15:06
Hi,

Just trying to fit new set of knee rubbers to a small A7/A10 tank.
The metal plates have almost non-existent curve but once fitted to the tank there is a big gap so the rubber is not fitting to the tank.
Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?

Dave.

The metal plates are thin gauge, so I gently massaged them by hand to conform better to the tank curvature. Those gaps look horrible to me.

Hi,

I thought that a gentle massage would be needed.  The gaps are unsightly and allow the ingress of water and general air bourn dust etc.
I found on another tank even with a reasonable fit the metal plate had gone rusty at the bottom.
Once the massaging is done I think a smear of clear silicon to seal the rubber to the plates before fitting will keep things rust free.
