Title: A65 1968 forks question
Post by: Chriss750 on 13 Jan, 2026, 14:57
About to start re-assembling the forks with new stanchions, and realised when I stripped them I failed to note the correct position of the retaining washer (47.5064) and the sealing washer (47.5065). Do they go above or below the yoke? Sorry if it's a dumb question but the parts book is not clear.
Thanks, Chris.

I have a feeling they go underneath, because 65-5332 goes on top. If this is correct then they seal the headlamp bracket to the top yoke.  My A10 has A65 forks - or a mash up of A10 and A65, but the headlamp brackets have been cut down for clip-ons so there's no washers but there is 65-5332 on top.  Also the top nut has to be tight to pull the taper on the stanchion into the yoke and I think that would squash the rubber washer out.

Thanks, I think I'm sorted with this one.
