Title: B33 clutch adjustment
Post by: RichardAB on 03 Jan, 2026, 12:53
Ref 1960 BSA B33. Fitted with 4 spring clutch. Service sheet 314 (engine prefix GB) makes reference to clutch adjustment "between the inner end of the screw and the clutch push rod a STEEL BALL is inserted. I cannot find in any parts book/exploded drawing showing the steel ball and its associated part number. Can anyone advise?
1 - part number/size for the ball
2 how is the ball retained between the end of the clutch push rod & the grub screw?
Thank you

The ball is captive on the pushrod end of the adjuster screw (BSA part no. 65-3403). HTH

The lock nut for that adjuster should be a half thickness nut. Also the pushrod for the 4 spring is a different length to the one for the 6 spring. See how you get on.
