Title: Army B31 ?
Post by: Jean-Luc on 30 Dec, 2025, 17:04
Hello !
This bike is for sale, and said, supposed to be an ex-french army motorcycle .
Is there any history of such plunger B31 in other country's army ?
I have not found any in my documents.
Thanks !

1250 B31 plungers were despatched from BSA to the Indian Army in early 1954.

Smaller batches, possibly for army or other public service use were despatched from BSA to overseas destinations including to France, Denmark and Indonesia during late 1953. The B31 was a useful and reliable bike for such uses.

Hi,

A rarity indeed but what is this?  An extra dynamo/alternator perhaps.

Dave.

Looks like someone's added a typical French lightweight motorbike alternator. I can't believe the French army would have done that!
