Title: Dural or steel push-rods for A10?
Post by: limeyrob on 07 Dec, 2025, 20:56
I think I know the answer - steel, but I just wanted to read other's views in case I'm wrong.
Bike will not be ridden hard and my own experience of Dural push rods on other bikes is they wear rather quickly.
Of course the fact that I can get a set of Dural rods for £17 then the steel are £29 and chrome molly £90 has no bearing.....
Its a nice bike but £90 push rods will give it ideas above its station ;D

It's not what they are made from, as much as who makes them.

If alloy push rod are to be used ,fist thing is to make sure they are actually Dural or of that quality, then check the lengths are correct, and also the radius on ends are correct, there are some on the market that are Just not fit for purpose, if I had some original steel one in good condition I would carry on with them
