Hi,
Does anyone now anything about the 1936 BSA B18/D18 249cc that I've owned since I was 15, I'm now 76 so, thats 61 years, why I've still got it I don't know as I've scraped what I always thought were far better bikes.
Since I've owned it, it's never been ridden and now I hope to restore it,(could do with a rocker box cover as this was always missing and a DIY one made by previous owner).
I know that it's classed as a very rare model as it was only manuractured by BSA for 1 year, and only 250 were made? Therefore do anyone know how many might still be out there??
Cheers

The despatch book shows something over 2300 of the"D18" engined B18 OHV Light De Luxe models were actually produced. It's in the UK catalogue for 1936 (copy in Members Area of website), but not in the export catalogue ... although a quick flick throught the despatch book shows at least one got to the agents in Paris.
There's a parts book and a handbook for the model (also in the Members Area) ... but the handbook cover says it's a 24.9hp (methinks the decimal point might have shifted!!)
Good afternoon, JABBA99
Thanks very much for your quick reply to my enquiry re the BSA B18/D18 production run. Do you think I could find out from DVLA how many are still road registered?
Cheers

You might like to speak to Leon. He's collecting every model from 1936. (I think he has all of them?)
