I've tried to :( discover how to introduce myself to you all but alas have failed . So I'll try this instead :). I have an A10 1951, plunger model, and the rear wheel bearings have committed hari kari☹️. Does anyone know the serial numbers so I can order new bearings without paying daft prices 🤔?! Oh ! And if someone would be kind enough to tell me how, I'll introduce myself properly and post pictures of my A10 and my other steed, a 1950 M20.
Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions 👍
I don't have them to hand, but having recently bought wheel bearings for a SA A10 and the drive side crank bearing I found buying quality Japanese brands as BSA spares was cheaper than ordering from a bearing supplier.
Ok 🤔, do you have a supplier you can recommend/ mention??😬
Hi,
You should find them on Simply Bearings or most suppliers. There will be a range of quality from those with no manufacturers name on them to the mainstream makers.
If you put the make and number as specified in your manual and parts book you should get either the original maker or equivalents.
Dave.
Simply Bearings are good but also any of the usual sellers - Fecked, Dragnfly, Classaic spares where they specify Japanese, often you have a choice.
BSA threw a curve ball in as they mixed imperial and metric bearings on the hubs on some models.
BSA parts numbers are 89-3022 (brake drum) so a RLS8-2RS would be an equivalent. For the hub bearings (2 reqd) part number is 65-5883 with example equivalent LJ7/8-2RS. Bearings would normally be CN clearance too. Some vendors will sell a bearing kit, but I normally buy branded ones from a reputable bearing supplier. HTH

Anyone but Feked. Bearing Boys, Simply Bearings etc are much better.
