I am fitting a pazon electronic ignition unit to my C15. It requires that the coil has 3 - 4.5 Ohms resistance, which rules out the Chinese coil I had lined up. Does anyone know of or use a 12v ignition coil that is more reliable that the average Wassell/Lucas offering? I'd guess something off a Honda 125 would go twice around the world...?
Usually a coil of 3-4.5 ohms is for a points system. Electronic coils are about 1.5 ohms.
Trispark coils are really good. They are also oil filled like the originals, not epoxy filled like any other version on the market.

Eh.
1.5-2Ω coils are typically 6v coils
3-4Ω coils are typically 12v coils.
If mounting to a single cylinder bike then you need one of the above to suit your relavent bike's voltage.
The exception to the rule is on a twin cylinder bike, when EI is used on a 12v bike, you should wire two 6v coils in series.
By wiring 2x 1.5Ω or 2Ω coils in series you double the resistance so 3-4Ω and fall within to 3-4.5Ω range as specified by most makers of electronic ignition.
The ONLY time you will run into a coil which is less than 1Ω is on an ignition such as Pazon smart fire, Boyer micro power and some of the creations by Electrex World, to name a few.
