Title: C15 front brake
Post by: Barnsey on 28 Oct, 2025, 12:24
Dear All,

I have acquired a second C15 (will I never learn!?).  Hopefully this one will be a goer..

But, I am curious.  My existing bike has an air scoop on the front brake for cooling, and this one doesn't.  I'll see if I can get some photos.  But does this imply that bike no 1 has been fitted with the more powerful Triumph brake at some point in its life?

  BR,  Ian

I don't recall any C15 brakes with air-scoops, so yes, its got something else fitted, but without a photo its hard to know what.  There's a good chance its an improvement but check how its been fitted with the spindle and anchor, dangerous bodges are not unknown.

That looks like a airscoop from under the front seat of a Lambretta.
I did that to my A10 brake many years ago.

OK, that makes more sense, so its the STD brake plate with a scoop and some holes.  That means it will fit properly and no issues with the fork lug.  Looks rather nice.

At least they put exit holes a lot of people forget that.
