Title: amal mk1 concentric premier info
Post by: nablats on 27 Oct, 2025, 21:59
having bought a premier, I am finding, or should I say, not finding specific details on the amal website. There is obvs a new pilot arrangement to the standard previous mk1, but I am trying to find details on layout, spares and cleaning. It may be a techy issue with my cookies or summat. Has anyone here found good info?

I have a Wassell Evolution which is basically the same carb fitted to my Norton Electra. The main difference with the previous models apart from the anodised slide etc is the removeable pilot jet. This is found opposite the idle air screw and simply unscrews for checking. There are different sizes available but I find the standard (17 if I remember correctly) seems to work fine.

As far as tuning etc goes they're just the same as the standard model.

thanks - so there is no more poking wire down the mixture screw hole, there is no wee bushing in there any more, so should be easier to clear out any crud
