So many questions how do you tell what bike a qd hub/wheel are from, I have a plunger A10 1955 and an 18 inch rear wheel which could be A50 A65 or maybe b44 Victor I did post about this previously but have forgotten what was said, a lot of stuff was interchangeable if the hub is the same as an A10 can I fit the correct bearings in it and use it. Also where is best to get parts I've been using ebay which seems to be a minefield unless you have encyclopedic knowledge of parts which I clearly don't
As I recall the later design of hubs had the off-side bearing retained by the speedo drive sleeve, while the earlier plunger etc hubs had a standard screw-in bearing retainer cap as the speedo drive was from the gearbox.
Have a look at a very good parts supplier Priory Magnetos who is not just an electrical expert.
I've got a spare 20" rim rear wheel/ bare hub if needed?
Not sure which bikes use 20" rims?
Thanks everyone it looks like have a plunger hub which may be compatible I have ordered new A10 plunger bearings and stub axle, so we will see where that goes hopefully it will result in a usable rear wheel if it does a new rim and re spoke are in order ive built bikes from boxes of bits but all swing arm models, plungers are a whole different ball game and I am struggling different forks, suspension, seats, tanks, mudguards, well and truly out of my comfort zone, so thanks guys
