Title: Kickstart rubber 27-4174
Post by: Greenfield on 21 Aug, 2025, 16:31
Kickstart rubber 27-4174 was fitted to all models B, C and M in 1939 but does not seem to be available. Does anyone know if the end was open or closed and is there something similar that would do the job?

It has a closed end and is embossed BSA.
Item no. 153243398798 on ebay will show you what it looks like, but check ID and length before you order.

Thanks Steve. That one's a 42-3159. I've got this type on my B33 and B40, but it needs to be about 3/8 to 1/2" longer for my B21. I'd be interested to hear what owners have fitted to their prewar M20s which should be the same as the B21.

Thanks Ron. No reply from Jeff so I'll fit a Burman style one for the moment and perhaps one will turn up in the future.

He has a full time day job so can't answer all emails immediately and has probably been busy preparing orders for Netley Euro jumble and Kempton coming up. Here is one satisfied customer today.

The correct rubber arrived today from Jeff. It looks to be decent quality and at the right price.
