Title: 72 A65T Gearbox bung
Post by: Tony M on 27 Jul, 2025, 02:55
Gents,

Does anyone have a part number or description of the bung or plug that fits into the gearbox housing behind the selector spindle? Looks like it was taken out when the cases went in for vapour blasting. Nothing in the parts book that I can find.
Or is the spindle just covered in sealant to block off the hole?
Cheers

Not sure whether you mean the Camplate Plunger plug which is 57-3745. 68-0344 is the screw that fits into the end of the rocker spindles.

Thanks Ian. I don't suppose 57-3745 is the same as 68-0102?
Going by the photos and descriptions on Google they are.....?

Cheers

According to my records 68-0102 is doing the same job, but for the 1966 to 68 models and I believe thread to be 9/16" x 16 (BSF). I'm not sure whether there may have been a slight dimensional or (thread change to UNF or UNC?) for 57-3745 which is suitable for the 69 to 72 cases. HTH
