Title: 1957 M21
Post by: watts on 16 Jul, 2025, 17:25
I am struggling to understand which nearside outer ballbearing I need.

Draganfly fiche suggests 65-2045
My parts book suggests 66-1625 Drangfly this is until 1949 then 65-2045.

Are they same?

Thank you

I presume you mean the drive side outer bearing?
The 1949 to 1958 parts book says 65-2045.
1946 to 1948 parts books show 66-1625 for the outer bearing.
65-2045 is what you need.

Hello Derek

Thank you, do you know what the difference is between the bearings is?
Did the cranks change or the cases?

Thank you

Matthew

Interesting PES engineering do a replacement sealed bearing which is for

65-2045

66-1625

24-732

24-0732

Covering all years suggesting they are all the same.

Thanks
Matthew

Haven't a clue. May be just a different spec of bearing. If you have the old bearing out you should see the markings on it which will refer to a specific bearing. You should then be able to go to bearing supplier and buy a replacement, although I think imperial sized bearings are getting harder to find.

The '47 parts book lists 66-1603 for the drive side crankcase half. The '49 book lists 66-1613. While the '48 book lists both 66-1603 and 66-1613. Whatever, your's is the later post '48 casing.

Hello

My crank has odd part numbers.

2 DA17410.

Not sure what that means.

Thanks
