Hi, I'm new to the group and would like some advice please. My C11G has an oil leak from this joint on the oil filter union where it joins the oil tank,should it have a washer?

The Oil Tank banjo should have a washer either side. BSA part number is :- 29-7971. HTH

Yes, definitely needs a fibre washer. On the plus side, if that is the only oil leak you have - then you are doing well! :0)

I find that modern fibre washers are useless. I generally fit a dowty washer instead.
