Title: C15 CLUTCH PUSHROD ACTUATING ARM ASSEMBLY
Post by: rhyatt on 20 Jun, 2025, 20:36
Hi all,
1959 early distributor model
With the 5/32" ball bearing in the cup , there's not a massive amount of actual pushrod actually in the cup.
Is this correct please?
Also , both ends of my 40-3229 pushrod have a slight taper in the last 1/8" of the rod , should both ends be square to fully bear on the adjuster screw and this ball bearing ?
But looking closer at various replacements do actually look tapered , so perhaps I'm OK. 7 and 7/8" long
Cheers

Hi,

Both ends must be square and the timing side/actuating arm end needs a taper.  This allows the rod to engage with the ball bearing and not foul the other bit.

Dave.

Great,
So tapered is OK but the ends must be square
Saves buying a new rod
