Title: C15 clutch plate thickness
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 16 Jun, 2025, 10:15
Good morning,

Has anyone found that a nice new set of friction plates make the 'stack' of plates a bit too thick?
Result is last plane plate is very close to the edge and it is impossible to get the spring screw adjusters to start on the thread.

Sometimes pattern parts are not the same as the original and may be thicker, try reducing the amount of plates to suit.

Hi John,

There are only 4 to start with.  The used ones are a bit thinner but that could be wear although they do not look that worn so perhaps mix of used and new will do it.

Hi,

I ended up putting the used ones back in and it was just that bit easier to get the new springs in so I now have some in stock for future use.
