Title: 70 starfire - rear shocks problem
Post by: KEVINBACON on 24 May, 2025, 15:11
Hi, I have removed the old rear shocks but the bush on the new set have much smaller bushes (lower) and will not cover the shoulder!, so are there different bush kits out there?

Feked motorcycles sell universal bushes.

Are you sure it's a shoulder?

It could be the inner metal sleeve from the old lower bush which has become corroded to the stud and will need removing (possibly with heat) to allow the new shock to fit.

Thanks for your reply, the l/h side lower bush was actually brazed on but larger than on the other side so I have taken out the metal bush on the shock
And it now fits perfectly, I should've looked at the old shocks when I 1st took them off and I would have seen this!🙃

Hi,

Try asking Hagon.  They make a range of classic shocks so may be able to supply bushes.  Their site does not list them but contact them and ask if they can supply.

Dave.
