Title: Oil leak and hole BSA A10 clutch side
Post by: Harvey_Mushman on 01 May, 2025, 17:50
Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I've just bought a BSA A10 Super Rocket and after only a very short ride it pumped all it oil out onto the ground.

I've found a small circular hole behind the primary drive case below the magneto that looks like it should have some sort of bolt or grommet in it but I can't find any information.

I've managed to take a photo of it as view from underneath from the left side of the bike.

I hope someone can help identify what is missing.

Thank you in advance.

Is the just the crankcase breather outlet ?
It may have wet sumped and it didn't have time to scavenge it back to the oil tank before you rode off

Hi,

It is worth checking the scavenge return pipe in the sump. From experience I know they can come loose.
This in effect allows the sump oil level to rise until it is still scavenged but also is whisked about by the crank and overwhelms the breather.
