Title: C15 forks
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 26 Apr, 2025, 16:55
Hi,

Can the restrictor rod retaining bolt be removed and refitted without the rod moving?
The bolts are leaking and need to be sealed.

Dave.

The restrictor bolt should remove without the restrictor moving. Spring pressure should keep it pushed downwards, the drain screw should have a spigot on its inner end to locate in a slot in the bottom end of the restrictor to prevent it rotating as the bolt is turned.
Maybe check the spigot on the screw is still there to do its job?

Hi Rupert,

Thanks for the reply.  I think the drain plugs have the spigots from when I changed the oil but will check anyway before undoing the bolts to seal them.
