Title: Rev on the lift? Twin clock Q...
Post by: AndrewB44 on 06 Mar, 2025, 21:33
Hey all,

I'm adding a rev counter to my B44 build and have managed to source a matching one for my speedo. But perhaps a daft Q to you regular owners, is there a correct/British way to have them orientated? My MG has the tacho on the left, speedo on the right (British?) but my Guzzi is t'other way around.

I don't suppose it matters but my previous Gold Stars had the speedo on the left and the revcounter on the right.

A quick look at Draganfly B44 Electrical. Drawing seems to indicate tacho left.

My Goldie mongrel has the speedo on the left and revcounter on the right (shorter more direct run for the revcounter from the timing cover gearbox).
Where does the B44 get its rev counter drive from (presume speedo from rear wheel?

Thanks all, and Neil, that's a good Q, both get the feeds from the right (off) side of the bike, speedo rear wheel and Tacho right crankcase. Think I'll go Tacho left, inkeeping with other Beezas of that era (B25) which seem to do this, and I like that it matches my Midget with Smiths clocks, weird as that may sound!
