Hi, I need help acquiring a light switch part for an A7 from 1961. The part in question is a plastic element which I have marked in the picture below. Unfortunately, the thread has been stripped in this element (visible in the photo). Where can I buy this part? I know that the entire part is available for purchase (https://draganfly.co.uk/shop/58841/ign-switch/#19-1666) but I don't want to buy the whole switch because then it won't be an original part, and that's important to me. Do you have any tried and tested ideas to fix this? Can you help?

Is there enough meat to cut a smaller diameter thread - even a metric one if your finer feelings allow?
Try using something like JB weld on the worn area. Grease the inside of the piece that screws on. Leave to set then unscrew the two pieces. This should leave you with a new bit. of thread..
Hi,
What is the bit that screws on like? Is that tread worn and what is it made of?
Dave.

Hi iansoady,
There is enough meat to cut a smaller diameter thread but then we need thin nut, because from the top comes the switch lever. I don't know if I will find such a cap...

The clearance between the nut and the thread is approximately 1 mm. There is no thread at all. The previous owner already glued it to a similar thread, but unfortunately it doesn't hold.

This is plastic element. There is no old thread at all.
Hi,
Is there enough plastic to cut a new very slightly smaller diameter thread on the piece in the picture and open up the other part and make a very thin sleeve to fit between them?
Dave.
