Title: B31 parts suppliers for newbie
Post by: rustyboots on 07 Feb, 2025, 22:34
Hi all
So i am very new to classic bike ownership, today in fact.Expecting the worst, hoping for the best.
Where do you obtain spares from?,
Im on the cheshire /wales border so would be keen to know of any reliable spares suppliers.

Not needing anything immediately, but need to know where to look as and when,
Tia

Hello

A good starting point is Draganfly, but there are other sources Burton Bikes Bits, Classic Bike shop an internet search will find those.  Plus specialist mag/dyno speedo repairs etc.

Ebay can be useful if you know the part, but depending on the year it can be a challenge. In the 50s especially they seemed to change year to year.  Often some parts are interchangable between models.

The forum and the Facebook one can be very useful to get advice.

Good luck

Draganfly are a good first step, and you might even get lucky and find something that's not on back order..

😂
Agree, good parts reference charts and they do have some odds and ends being made, but as above a lot of desired bits are on 'back order' which effectively means no longer available.
I look for original parts in decent order first. Some Indian made stuff can be well executed but the materials used are often highly suspect and despite looking pretty can fail prematurely.

I find having an original parts book invaluable.
I've also had good service from C&D Autos and Kidderminster Motorcycles, (plus Hitchcocks who are really Royal Enfield dealers but carry a lot of generic stock plus Amal stuff).
