Title: Sterling Moss Green
Post by: Mr T L Drury on 04 Feb, 2025, 15:38
Hi,I am new to the forum and I expect this subject has probably come up in the past but I wonder if anyone has a modern day paint code for the 1971 Thunderbolt Sterling Moss Green.
I am based in the UK and seem to be having a problem getting a suitable colour match from local paint factors, (saying that my tank and side panels are bare metal).
Many Thanks, Trev.

Hi Trev
Have a look on the RS Paints website.

A friend of mine found that Rover Kensington metallic green (with a little extra metallic flakes added) worked for him. If your tank is the smaller export one, the lower white section is Ford UK Diamond White. HTH

Thanks for the reply, I understand the RS colour is too dark and when I looked on their site I couldn't even find the Green colour.

I'll check out the Rover Kensington Green.

Many Thanks.

It depends on how original you want the finish to be, but I found the Stirling Moss green to be a bit 'sickly' so I did mine in Rover British Racing Green. A tad darker but looked mile better to me.
