Title: New Goldstar 650
Post by: Legacy edition bry on 27 Jan, 2025, 18:35
I have just purchased my legacy edition Gold Star, brand new 74 plate, £5,400 on the road from The Bike sanctuary at Milton Keynes, free delivery. So more than pleased. I love it,

2 things I'd like to talk about.

1, mirrors are poor, I've had to buy extension pieces (which haven't arrived yet, So don't know if that cures it) any thoughts ?

2, I want to add a buzzer to the indicators, does anybody know where the relay is located ? And can I change it for a relay with buzzer rather than mess with the wiring. I keep forgetting to turn it off, which could cause me to taste the side of a car, if I don't do something about it soon

Thanks in advance for any info

Relays with buzzers are readily available from ebay. You neeed to check whether yours has 2 or 3 terminals.

Great! Did you know that the Beds, Bucks and Northants branch of the BSAOC have a monthly meeting not six miles from The Bike Sanctuary? It's at The Barley Mow, Cosgrove, on the second Wednesday of the month from 8pm; the next meeting is in two weeks on the 12th of February.

We also have a monthly meeting and ride out on the last Sunday of the month, at The Super Sausage, Potterspury, leaving at 10:30am.

We already have one member with a 650 Gold Star. Err... you may be somebody we already know; I can't tell from your forum name. Anyhow, welcome!

Roger

Thanks Rog1 that's a great and friendly offer. My bike came from Milton Keynes. unfortunately, I live in wolverhampton. so a little bit far to ride for an evening(but you never say never)
I noticed the 650 in the pic has also had to put another exhaust protector on 😂 I burnt my leg 3 times. so now I have one too. looks like he has changed his mirrors could you find out what he has fitted instead ?
thanks
Bry

I've melted my waterproof overtrousers due to that area being so hot, so will definately look to do something similar myself!!

Today I fitted a TEK tail tidy. It has made the rear look more like the original goldie, I always disliked the look from behind it looked like a 125cc learner bike. The TEK team have designed to fit using existing holes, wiring, back light and indicators. No soldering, cutting, drilling or bodging. It's a little on the expensive side at around £100 delivered. But looks great and only took about half an hour to fit.

2 better pics of TEK tail tidy. I'm going to change the sticker for the piled rifle motif, once it arrives.

I saw Dennis last night and he says that his mirrors are the ones that came with the bike; he bought the bike new. He put the protector on the exhaust as he kept melting his boot soles on it!

Thanks Rog. how strange they're different to mine, unless it's the light. they look black mine are chrome. I've ended up putting extenders on them, but weather hasn't been nice enough to try them out yet.
Thanks for the message Bill. I went over to the Robin Hood to have a look where it was last week  so hopefully I will visit on the 4th March, depends on weather and how I feel.
