Title: M20/B31 Tyres
Post by: watts on 21 Jan, 2025, 16:34
Currently I have Skidmaster MkII 350x19 front and rear of unknown age and condition.  Look ok ish.

I think it should have 325x19 front and 350x19 rear, M21.B33 ran 350x19 front and rear.

Any recommendations for replacement tyres.

Thanks

I've used Mitas H01 (I think) which are fairly cheap and seem to perform well.

The Servis brand have a nice 'pair' of  dry reasonably priced 3.25 ribbed and 3.50 K70 pattern tyres. Can tell more by PM if it helps. Assume you are UK.

+1 for Mitas. Look the part, nice and pliable and not too expensive.

How hard are you riding it?
If you plan on pushing hard I suggest Avon Roadrider AM26
I have a pair on my GS Mongrel and have great confidence in them.

Hi,

Your tyres are what put the power(?) on the road and provide the friction for braking and cornering.
Some work OK in the dry and some are not so good on damp surfaces never mind in the rain.  Some are good all round.
Don't skim on such important items.  Cheap is only cheerful until it goes wrong. If you must have the period looking tyre go for Avon, Continental, Metzeler brands and ride with confidence.

Dave.
