Title: Headlamp wiring
Post by: PatrickO on 17 Dec, 2024, 16:03
First thanks for all the helpful replies to my last wiring question. It helped a lot.

I'm now trying to work out how to wire the headlamp light and pilot light to the main harness.
There's three wires coming from the headlight bulb holder, one a bit thinner than the other two. Two wires coming from the pilot light bulb holder.

I've attached a pic of the main harness I've bought. If you look at the harness diagram you'll see two white wires. They go into a double connector. I'm thinking the bulb holder wires must connect with that somehow?

I'd be really grateful if anyone can tell me how to connect to bulb holder wires.

At a quess the thinner wire is the earth one the other two go back to the dip switch. From your main loom a live will go to the dip switch and two will go to the headlamp bulb holder.

somehow i find it difficult to keep my mind in positive earth mode . But surely the main harness goes to the switch and your lights come off the switch with separate wiring not shown on your diagram . So your red goes directly to the headlamp earth point and white brown and green brown go to the headlamp switch . From the switch you will take leads to your bulb holders . Remembering that its positive earth .
I have always made my own wiring in the headlight but is this what you are looking for .https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115300958581?chn=ps&_ul=GB&norover=1&mkscid=101&itemid=115300958581&targetid=2274564709393&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006649&poi=&campaignid=21348983186&mkgroupid=161812505023&rlsatarget=pla-2274564709393&abcId=9429803&merchantid=119090799&geoid=1006649&gad_source=1
