Hi,
Can anyone confirm that there were two different front TLS brake plates on the Spitfire MKlV's? Almost all the images I have found show the brake cable entering the brake plate at the bottom. However there are a few others that show it entering from the top as per the link. Is this in fact original?

I was under impression that 68 was the low cable lever type which was changed in 69 to cable moved to parallel with fork leg.
I've only ever had the later type - very very effective with decent shoes and HD cable.
I believe that according to all the groups parts catalogues, all the bikes with 8" TLS had the low cable type for '68 only, the bellcrank type for '69 and onwards.
Now whether all the bikes coming out of the BSA and Triumph factories conformed to this is debatable
Thanks Guy's that seems to confirm what I had read that there were two types of 8" TLS brake plates on the MKlV's. It just seemed odd there are so few pictures online that show the latter of the two.
Merry Christmas
