Hi All, my first post here and also my first BSA.

I've just bought this 1970 Thunderbolt imported from Virginia, USA. Can anyone tell me what colour the side panels should with a red/chrome tank?

Hello Patrick and welcome to the forum and BSA ownership. Colour combination is always a case of 'poetic licence' on the part of any owner, but BSA painted the sidepanels on these A65s the same colour as the tank. In addition, I believe the Thunderbolt for 1970 model year would have been Moonscape Grey which is a dark metallic grey. HTH

Hi,

I believe that 'Moonscape Gray' was for the '69 models only but may have gone in to '70 due the odd times that reg. years changed

When I bought my 1970 lightning in 1987 it had also chrome side panels. Black tank with chrome.
