Title: Making progress
Post by: Oval57 on 14 Nov, 2024, 20:28
Well I feel like I am just about ready to step back from the Blasting cabinet, the spray booth and the Kero trough for a while, thanks to you guys it looks like I have my parts heading my way so I can start the rebuild process....Undoubtably along the way I will find I am missing little bits and pieces but that's all part of it. I am still on the hunt for a fuel tank, hoping to find an original but may have to end up with an aftermarket!!!! here are a few progress pics.

Gearbox's turn for some attention this time whilst i wait for parts,
Had a small crack in the clutch cable post which turned out to be a bit bigger once opened up! it had started to crack towards the bush area so a little bit of a grind up and filled it in with the Tig.. Redressed the inside of the case, might do a bit more of a tidy up on the outside yet
The adjuster lugs had both broken off on the outside of my case which left the case too thin to weld so I made up a U-shaped lug and Tigged it on. Not very Original looking but will do the job

Not quite ready for them yet but the weather got a bit nasty(40C) here today so I thought I would do something of a cooler project.
Sat down and made gaskets, I also had some industrial felt material, so I made some felt seals, hopefully they will suffice
