Title: Smiths SSM magnetic Speedo - correct rubber vibration grommets/arrangement
Post by: hoogerbooger on 31 Oct, 2024, 19:02
The ones on my 60mm SSM 2001/00 have perished.

online I only find ones like in this link in sets of 6...or 3:

https://www.classicbikepartscheshire.com/speedometer-tachometer-c41/speedometer-mountings-spares-c42/smiths-instruments-smiths-magnetic-sms-mounting-kit-set-3-screws-rubber-mountings-washers-p6596/s6683?cid=GBP&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry=GB

For each of the 3 screws, should there be one rubber on the inside of the case, and one on the outside?

And should the narrow end face the case....or the fat flat side?

(the bezel is off mine currently, whilst I try to calibrate it. none on the inside, but it had been tinkered with before, to get it working, & not sure how it should be. just understand it's important to reduce vibration)

That (full) kit is, I expect, only for the 80mm instruments.
