Title: B31/33 saddle
Post by: Rupert on 19 Oct, 2024, 22:31
Does anyone out there have an original single saddle for 1946 to 1948 rigid B31/B33? If so maybe you could help with photos and measurements please to help me replicate the exact saddle fitted - I'm thinking that would be a Terry's or Lycette type?
I would of course be happy to buy an original saddle but that's probably too big an ask - particularly as I don't know exactly what it should be like!
Modern/pattern/replica saddle isn't an option for this job...
Thanks in hopefull anticipation.

Hi Rupert

My brother says he has one that matches your requirements. Pictures attached.

Is that any use to you?

I'm reasonably certain he would sell it.

Cheers

Hi, Many thanks for your reply. I'm potentially interested in buying, if you could please tell me the overall length and width at the widest point?
Is that an original complete B31 saddle on the bike in the pic? And if so, how does the frame of the one on offer compare with it please?

looking through the parts lists for rigid and plunger B31/33 and M20/21 they all seem to have different saddle part numbers.
Is there a good modern pattern saddle that replicates and fits properly?

Sorry for high jacking your thread but I hope you think relevant.

Many thanks for the pics Tigerfeet, I'm interested in buying please if it's available? Could you please PM me to proceed with that, or I can PM you...
Hi Yellow B31, no problem, share the knowledge... I would expect that while the shape and size of saddles fitted to B and M machines may be the same the mounting brackets may be different to suit B or M frame? If so, different part numbers. Also equivalent saddles from different makers e.g. Lycette or Terry's would mean two different part numbers?
