Hi, The carbs on my MKlV Spitfire are pretty worn to say the least and I have a sticking throttle slide on the right side. I could try the various tricks to stop the sticking slide but I think I would prefer to replace them, after all they are almost 50 years old. I have a pair of Amal Premier on my MKlll Commando which I set-up easily with no problems whatsoever. I am therefore considering biting the bullet cost wise and replacing the Spitfire Carbs with Amal Premier's. Amal do not offer a MKlV Premier Carb on their site but their technical guy has said I can use the Mklll versions as per this link:

Can anyone please confirm they have used these carbs on a MKIV Spitfire. I don't see any reason why they would not be suitable but just want some reassurance before I purchase them.
Thanks for Looking
Phil
BSA fitted 932's to the MkIV so I wouldn't be too worried that Burlen don't associate the MKIV too.
Thanks Ian much appreciated I just needed a little reassurance which I now have 🤗
I had a Mk. 2 from new with GP's fitted never a problem and they would tick over as well, somewhat expensive to retro fit today also remember a chap that could resleave worn slides,he did one for me once and I have seen new brass slides for Monoblocks .
