Title: 1959 c15 front wheel bearing
Post by: rhyatt on 18 Sep, 2024, 18:04
Good evening,
My front wheel spindle seems to have side to side movement between the 2 bearings.
I can't see any spacers , so I assume one or both are not driven inwards enough.
How deep in is the nearside bearing driven in please , is there a shoulder similar to the off side bearing ?
Thank you

It should be like that. When you tighten the brake plate nut the shoulder on the spindle is pulled up against the inside of the brakeside bearing and the spindle is then locked in place. The other bearing just sits on the spindle wherever it comes to rest.
