Title: Goldie Clubmans centre stand problem
Post by: chrisf-1 on 13 Sep, 2024, 14:43
Hi everyone I have a 1958 Goldie Clubman's and am having big problems getting it on the centre stand hopefully this time pics will attach, I know my bones are getting old but I am sure that is not the problem At the moment I need 2 men and a boy to get it on the stand and the feet look very wrong I have welded a metal piece on the side to make locating it easier but am wondering if it is mounted wrong because the way the stand feet sit make it look like it is on tip toes

Nope, that is correct. I have two like that (minus the added lever).  Do you have the lifting handle over the left rear shock?
Definitely a technique to it.

Yes I have the lifting handle but getting it up there is not a one man job

Hi,

Try rolling the rear wheel up onto a 2" piece of wood and then use the centre stand.  That extra height makes it a lot easier.

Dave.

Or try putting a Panther M120 onto it's stand....the Goldie will seem like a moped in comparison.

Do you think about it before you try and get it on the stand? If so - don't!
