Title: C15 gearbox service
Post by: Richard Labinski on 09 Sep, 2024, 09:35
The cam plate in my C15 SS has a small brass dowel attached. It doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. Is it from another model maybe?
It's loose and spins with a tiny hole drilled in the side.
Do I need to know something?

This is the means of assembling and dismantling the inner cover.
Your dowel should have a split pin in the hole in its end.
Remove split pin
Remove dowel sliding it out
Remove inner cover

A camplate for a distributor engine which has a small brass dowel on its flat surface near the plunger windows is from a triumph tigers cub, it operates the gear position indicator. Other than that it is the same as is used in C15/B40 distributor engihes
