Title: A65 CRANKCASE
Post by: steve56 on 05 Sep, 2024, 20:45
Hi,
Hoping for a bit help with my A65 build . Could some tell me what the piece is to the left of the PRV as shown in the pictures ? it has an allen bolt screwed in the bottom. The engine is in the frame but this part is tight on the frame where the silencer bracket is. Doesn't like right to me. Grateful for any  insights.

Thanks

It is a plug to blank off an drilled oil way. On mine case it is a screw. Looks to me it isn't original.
If it is oiltight it's good.

Ok thanks, just wondered what it was for originally and why it's so tight on the frame

ditto, mine is an unbrako taper plug. 1969 A50.
same cases and same frame and also just enough room to fit engine into frame.

This should be the original way, they opened maybe to flush the oilway and put another plug in it
