I wonder if someone could cast an eye on the pic and tell me if the gap between the back of the brake drum and the edge of the crinkle hub is correct. Or should they fit closer together, so no splines are visible. Thanks in advance :)
The bike is a 1950 A10 plunger.
Possibly a little closer. I notice the splined ring bolts to the drum have the flats away from the centre, so do they have flats on two sides? Also have you fitted the rubber seal (part no. 67-6051)? I've attached a pic of the hub on my yet to be started A65 Firebird which is basically the same setup crinkle wise. HTH
Not an answer to your question but shouldn't the flats on those bolts snug up to the annulus on the brake drum?
Sorry, just noticed Ian C had pointed that out!

Yes yours looks like it's a little closer in. I can't see any splines on your setup. I'm going to take the bearings out and measure them, got a sneaking suspicion they are too deep. That was helpful, thanks.
( yes, splined ring bolts have 2 flat sides :) )
Mine looks like Ian Cs. No splines are visible - they should be tucked away inside and protected by the rubber seal.
