Title: Pattern part gaskets are any of them any good
Post by: AltcarBob on 27 Jul, 2024, 18:36
As title of post says are there any good quality gaskets available to buy. I need a primary case gasket for a B25 I have bought three from three of the normal suppliers trying to find a good quality one but they are all flimsy thin material and one of them was not stamped out correctly.

I wouldn't mind making my own hell there was always a gasket shaped hole in the Weetabix box when I was a skint teenager but getting hold of gasket material to make a new gasket isn't easy either it only seems to be sold in A4 size sheets.

Are there any British made gaskets.

Hi,

Try Frost for sheets of gasket material.

The Group that most of us will know as including M.C.A (Aston) Ltd includes still (I believe) Escadean Ltd and if you peruse their website you'll see familiar gaskets for British motorcycles plus machined parts for same. They are trade suppliers only but be assured that there are British made parts, not all comes from overseas.

See https://www.escadean.co.uk/light-pressings-and-gaskets

Regards to all Beesa folk.

Paul.

My plan was to buy a gasket set from SRM. They claim to only sell stuff they use themselves - and I've never had a duff item from SRM insomething like thirty years buying from them.

I decided to have one more go at buying a gasket. I spotted that Classicbikeshop ltd advertised that their gaskets were British made I placed an order and it arrived 2 days later well wrapped. I excitedly opened the parcel and realised straight away I had ordered the wrong gasket "oh for sjt&£@ sake"
Anyway correct gasket ordered now.

Tigerfeet I looked at the SRM website but didn't see a gasket set for a B25.

Ps I have also ordered a 500x1500mm sheet of Flexoid should keep me sorted for a few years
