Title: B40 brake cams.
Post by: Stubaker58 on 22 Jul, 2024, 19:54
Hello again,

Both the bake cams on my B40 project have had their ends mullered at some time in the past.  This means the grease gun will not fit, not that I expect to grease the brakes very often.

Rather than buying new replacements does anyone see a problem with turning the remaining stump flat, drilling and tapping the hole and then fitting separate grease nipples?

Many thanks.

You could put a 2ba nipple in there I reckon from a bantam swinging arm

Or just fit a stainless or chrome domed nut to cover the end. You probably want to strip the cam out to grease it rather than use a grease gun.
