I have bought an A65 and although it was running and riding, it was not running well, I thought mainly due to the carbs/settings.
The biggest problem I have is the oil. I started replacing the oil as I always do. The level in the tank was very low and on draining was a black colour. I saw if there was any in the sump plate and a similar quantity of clean oil came out. I started to refill the tank but could only get 2.7 Litres of the 3.4L needed into the tank. I tried kicking the bike over many times to get the oil flowing but the level did not move, I have a blockage.
This is an SRM Built engine in 2006 so unlikely to have been built wrongly. I have stripped the oil system in my A10 but not yet worked on the A65. The book says It has two Non-return valves (one on the feed and one on the return) there is the filter, the pipes and hoses and the pump. What I am asking for is your experience, based on the problem; what is most likely to be the problem, and what order should I clean/clear/strip.
