Title: Gluing Clutches
Post by: scifi on 30 Apr, 2024, 18:39
Hi All, sorry to post this here, cos it's for a 1926 Humber 350.

Does anyone know how to glue clutch friction cork onto the clutch plates.
After standing all winter my clutch pack has frozen, and in removing the plates, some of the cork stayed on the wrong plate.   So I just want to re-glue it onto the right side....  It seems that rust was a better adhesive than the glue on the opposite friction plate.

Hi I'm new to Bsa singles , and also have a early 4 spring clutch fitted to my b33 . Wouldn't they use a similar glue to brake shoes ?  Maybe go talk to someone at a small brake relining shop . Hopefully someone that has done this on the forum  and will chime in to help.  Cheers .

Well, I have tried some Gorilla Glue, and will leave it a couple of days to set.   My first thoughts are that it is like RTV and does not set hard, but more like bath sealant.   Will keep you informed of how it turns out.

Well, it has been 24 hours, and the Gorilla Glue has set hard and clear, much better than white and rubbery yesterday.
So it looks to be Ok for now.
