Title: Chronometric speedo under-reading
Post by: Dean Southall on 29 Apr, 2024, 12:41
The chronometric speedo on my Super Rocket has started under-reading. I am suspecting the mechanism has just got  a bit gummy so thinking about taking the mechism out and without dismantling, drop it in the ultrasonic cleaner. Has anybody else experience of this issue and fix?

PS I could take it to Chronometrics where the first thing Russell will do is an utrasound clean, but I just fancy having a go myself (and justifying buying an ultrasound cleaner)

Small ultra sonic cleaners are not too expensive off ebay. We had a 30l one at work which lasted a few years, and being used almost daily. We bought a dearer one eventually when it did break down.

The biggest question you have is what solution to use. using water alone won't do much. Of that I cannot really help you.
