in all the manual specifications by bsa the thunderbolt has n4 spark plugs whereas the other models have n3 specification.
i am running n3 spark plugs as i think they are quieter but am i missing a trick here?
N3 will be ok , but the twin carbs used N3 as it was likely they would be treated more like a sports bike and the engine temperatures would be hotter. The thunderbolt was considered the tourer of the range and more likely to need the hotter plug to self clean.
If your N3's start getting sooty, and your jetting is standard then it might be worth trying the N4's.
thanks for advise allen,
my plugs do seem a little sooty so i will try n4 plugs and monitor the engines performance.
Hi,
I use NGK B6 or B7.
