Title: wrongly described items
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 14 Mar, 2024, 09:07
Hi,

I am sure we all have had the experienced of buying a part on line only to find it is wrong.  We then have the hassle of sending it back etc.
So what is wrong with the image?

Dave.

Hi,

Well spotted Roy.

The description and part number under the photo is what I was looking so I ordered it after enquiring as to its 'handled' look.  Apparently it had been returned by another customer as the wrong part so as it was in fact new it was fine.  However, when it turned up it was obvious that it was not as described.  It was a drum/sprocket for a rigid or swinging arm model.
Even the extract from the parts book seems to be titled wrong!!
What was even more 'wrong' was there was a sticker on it when it arrived with the plunger part number on it.
So a return of the wrong part was in order but not without making the case for a full refund of the cost of the part and the return postage which was forthcoming as a result of the return postage cost incurred by me was due to their error.  So, OK mistakes can be made but had there been an image of both sides of the part it would have been easy to see it was wrong and the mis labelling of the parts image did not help. I suspect that this part could well be sold to more unsuspecting customers.
So in my correspondence with the supplier I suggested that a couple of images would be helpful in avoiding such things.  I did expect to see amendments to the web shop info. but guess what?  Is is still there today as in the above image after more than 2 weeks.
These are the images I sent to illustrate the differences.
So, a challenge.  Have a guess at the name of the supplier.

Dave

Just this week I send an e-mail to a supplier , if the TS bush on the picture is really full bronze they are selling. Answer: no it's steel cage with bronze insert.
Luckily I didn't order yet.............

See this a lot.

Funny. I think that's the part I returned late last year. For exactly the same reasons.

Hi,

If anyone else has had this part and sent it back we should start a sub Forum and if you want to join you must buy this part and send it back.

To be serious though, if it had been identified and labelled properly in the first place then owner in need may well have bought it and be back on the road instead of all this hassle.

Dave.

That's too funny. But you think they might have had a rethink when it was returned the first time  ::) apparently not.
Draganfly aren't the only culprits of course and its annoying.
