Title: Inner timing side cover removal
Post by: john sever on 11 Mar, 2024, 06:16
Hi
Seeking advice on removal of inner timing cover on a 1970 A65 motor.  I have removed all that the manual says, but when I try
to pull the inner cover off it comes away around 5 or 6mm and then "clunk" - it hits something, but I cant work out what.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks
John

have you removed the tacho drive spindle? If you don't you'll break the tangs on the oil pump!

Other than that, could you post a picture of what you can see so far?

Thanks for your reply Allan.  A friend here suggested putting the gear lever on and jiggling it while pulling the cover - it worked!
