Title: B31 Foot Brake Pedal Stop - is this correct?
Post by: Fraz on 04 Mar, 2024, 20:12
Hi.
My '54 Plunger B31 doesn't have any way to alter the foot brake pedal position.
There's no "stop" - it just  bangs / stops on the foot peg (see photo)

I can adjust the brake "bite point" at the drum end but as for lowering the pedal, there's no adjusters that I can see.

Is it correct for the foot peg to be the "stop" please?
Thanks

I made a small 'L' shaped bracket out of aluminium and screwed a rubber pad in the position to stop the pedal hitting the foot peg. Works a treat and no permanent changes needed..

Thank you for the suggestion.

Today, I cobbled up this temporary test piece . . . . .

I set the footrest at the correct height, then set the pedal so that its easy to operate, then adjust the brake rod length to give the right amount of travel and finally adjust the brake light switch.
